Subject: CHILD CARE PRODINGS REVIEW

Dear Mr Mortimer,

CHILD CARE PROCEEDINGS REVIEW

We spoke yesterday and I explained that in the light of the issues covered in your recent correspondence with the Secretary of State for Education and Skills and the Permanent Secretary to DfES, I do not feel that it would be appropriate for you to attend the meeting tomorrow. But, in any event, we have decided that we want to focus on those stakeholder groups most directly involved in the strategic management and/or delivery of child care. On that basis I am withdrawing your invitation and that sent to your colleague. However, I am arranging a separate meeting to enable you, and some others, to put your views on the Review. Would 2pm on Thursday 17 November, here in Selborne House, be a time convenient to you?
