Family law Advice

Men's Aid is a voluntary group which has been set up in Milton Keynes to provide wherever possible free practical advice to men and fathers.

Men's Aid offers physical and emotional support to men and fathers over a range of problems.

These problems usually revolve around 1). child custody dispute (contact etc) and or 2). interpersonal abuse they – or their children - have suffered from their former partner.

Child custody disputes, contact, etc

  1. Men's Aid provides free information and advice to parents who are seeking to maintain a meaningful and responsible relationship with their children after family break down or divorce.
  2. Men's Aid also seeks to provide where the circumstances are complex a range of affordable fee paying options to access counsel’s opinion, solicitors advice, expert witness advice, e.g. CAFCASS report analysis, and help with complicated paperwork.
  3. Men's Aid also seeks to provide relevant and current information to parents who are seeking to maintain a meaningful and responsible relationship with their children after family break down or divorce.

Radically different and practical approach

Oliver Cyriax is a retired solicitor who acts on behalf of non-resident parents or grandparents.

He lives and works in Hammersmith, London and provides free verbal advice over the telephone; he charges a standard hourly rate if parents want him to run their case and act on their behalf.

Fee-paying cases are conducted by telephone and email - with attachments prepared in a Word document. A face-to-face meeting may not be necessary; if it is, the typical initial meeting (which is fee-paying) lasts up to two-and-half hours. By its end, a clear strategy will be agreed and the first useful piece of paperwork should be in draft form

Oliver does not appear in Court; his clients appear on their own behalf, making their own case from the best-possible start with well-prepared papers and a well-prepared case. He provides a full legal service: preparing correspondence, applications, statements, responses to CAFCASS reports, Orders Sought, and the whole range of ancillary documentation - up to and including Court of Appeal work. It includes prepping for Court, devising cross-examinations and the opening and closing speeches.

He offers a radically different and practical approach. His advice commonly reverses the advice of practicising solicitors.

He may be contacted by phone on 0208 748 1081 or mail@cyriax.freeserve.co.uk
