Dear David,

In response to you request for information related to support offered to male vicitms of Domestic Abuse. The following applies:

FUNDING

Winchester City Council is part of the multi-agency Community Safety Partnership which covers the whole of the Winchester District. We receive an annual grant from the Government Office for South East (GOSE) to reduce crime & disorder and tackling domestic abuse being one of our priorities. In this current financial year (2006/07) we have supported the following projects relating to DA:

The Winchester Domestic Abuse Forum = £1,000 (we also support the group with attendance from officers from the council and partnership)

The Hampton Trust Perpetrators Programme = £14,400 (men)
The Rape and Sexual Abuse Counselling (RASAC) = £7,350 (male and female)
Friends of the Family = £2,000 (children and their mothers)
Victim Support = £1,000
County Domestic Abuse Co-ordinator Post = £1,946 (women) This post is supporting by a countywide partnership.
