Dear Mr Mortimer,
Uttlesford Community Support
Group, which derives from Uttlesford Community Safety Action Team
(CSAT), provide support, guidance and help to those suffering from
domestic violence, homophobia, race crime and religious crime. The
group meet 4 times a year and also have closed session meetings as
and when the need is required.
CSAT allocate £2000
towards the group each year, they are also able to apply for further
funding from the CSAT pooled fund.
In 2006/7 CSAT also allocated
£20,000 towards Family Support Centre which supports people
affected by drug or alcohol related domestic violence for the purpose
of reducing the number of domestic violence incidents reported to
the police. £1000 towards Colchester Gay Switchboard and £1000
towards a diversity event organised by Action for Men to be run in
Uttlesford secondary schools.
