Hi Dave
Your reqest for
information has been passed to me for attention.
Swindon Borough
Council currently has a 3 year grant aid agreement (2006-09) with
Swindon Women's Refuge of £94,693 p.a. The agreed service provision
for this grant is as follows:
* 24 hour crisis
telephone helpline for victims of domestic violence in Swindon.
* Sustained provision of emergency accommodation, support and advice
for new residents (including those with no recourse to public funds)
- accessible on a 24 hour basis, 365 days a year.
* Resettlement / after care services for ex-residents as and when
required.
* Undertaking, production and dissemination of periodic statistical
and other research relating to domestic violence issues.
* Information, guidance, knowledge, expertise, training and consultancy
to inform other agencies as required or requested.
* Volunteering opportunities for women.
In addition our Social Services Department has a Service Level Agreement
for £20,108 p.a. with the Women's Refuge. This enables work
with children of victims at the Refuge.
I am not aware
of any funding awarded specifically for male victims although I know
the Women's Refuge's crisis telephone helpline would respond to queries
from male victims (i.e. signposting) if approached.
I hope this information
helpful. If I can be of any further assistance please don't hesitate
to contact me on 01793 466503.
