I am writing in
response to you enquiry regarding how many help and support groups
the Council fund, directly or indirectly for a) male and b) female
victim's of domestic violence and their children and c) how much each
one receives pa.
I have provided
answers to each of your questions in turn below.
Male Support Groups
At the present
time there are no support groups for men affected by Domestic Violence.
Female Support
Groups
SMBC support The
MABL Trust - a registered charity unique to Solihull who provide 2
women's support groups in conjunction with Relate and Solihull MIND.
Following this link on the Councils website provides a little more
information about the Trust http://www.solihull.gov.uk/akssolihull/images/att3712.doc
Funding
MABL receive a
grant of around £25K per annum from SMBC in addition to support
in kind by premises (based in New House, South Solihull Family Centre)
and overheads.
The groups themselves
are funded through a small lottery grant drawn down by the MABL Trust.
