Dear Mr Mortimer,
Thank you for
your request. I can confirm that, as a local authority, we do not
fund 'support groups' for men or women suffering from domestic violence
per say.
We do/have done
however:
Provide funding
and man power to pilot schemes such as the Community Domestic Abuse
Programme (for men who abuse), cost of £10,000 for 2006-07.
Fund a reporting
line for victims of abuse (all categories), £1,500 for 2006-07.
Fund an evaluation
of the Freedom Programme (support groups for women and children),
£2,500 as a one off payment in 2006.
Provide funding
for Childrens group therapy sessions, £1,000, as a one off payment
in 2005.
Actively support
all local DV forums, through officer attendance and advice on project
and action plan development.
Fund awareness
raising projects, via a budget held to deliver on Violent Crime, to
the amount of approximatley £5,000 p/a (approx £1,000
of which might be spent on DV but this is variable).
I do hope this
is sufficient information for your enquiry, do please feel free to
contact me directly should you require any more detailed information
on this matter.
Many thanks,
Louisa Dordoy
