Dear David,

Sandwell MBC does directly support two organisations working with victims of Domestic Violence, Sandwell Women's Aid and Sandwell Organisation Against Domestic Abuse (SOADA.) Sandwell Women's Aid has received a grant of £63,330 for the financial year 06/07. However this amount covers a broad spectrum of the work that they do, and although some of that work would possibly be described as support work with women and children, we do not have information which specifically classifies the work in this way with a separate budget identified.

SOADA was allocated a small budget of £1,000 to run a support group for women (06/07)
There is some additional Children's Fund money ( approximately £5,000), which has been allocated to a partner organisation (Head 2 Head Counselling service for children) which will be used to explore the feasibility and practicalities of developing some specific group support /counselling with young children who witness domestic abuse.
