In 2005/06 in Avon and Somerset there were 3421 incidents of domestic violence reported which resulted in an arrest. Of the persons arrested, 3045 were male and 376 were female.

In the past we have allocated funds to various voluntary bodies.

SEEDS - South Somerset Evaluation Empowering Domestic Abuse Survivors
Somerset Victim Support
South Somerset Domestic Abuse Forum.
Specific projects run by Police, District Council, local Action Groups and interested organisations.

Last year this funding was approx 15K.

Appart from the SEEDS group which is focused on females all the others are aimed at all victims.
