Dear Mr Wiffen,
There are currently no voluntary perpetrator programmes for male offenders
of domestic abuse in Oxfordshire. There are however mandatory programmes
run by the Probation Service (which is run by Oxfordshire County Council),
as part of Community Sentencing. There are no mandatory programmes
for female perpetrators, in this area.
With regards to voluntary perpetrator programmes for male offenders,
Oxfordshire Domestic Violence Steering Group (http://www.saferoxford.org.uk/dvomagdv.asp)
are looking into setting up a programme, but it is still at the discussion
stage and funding has yet to be found.
As there are no voluntary programmes at present Oxford City Council
are not funding any.
Yours sincerely,
John Evans

I can inform you
that we fund two support groups directly and employ a full time Domestic
Violence Co-ordinator. We directly spend £26,000 per annum specific
to women and a further £26,100 that is gender neutral. We do
not fund a specific support group for men.
