Dear Mr Mortimer,
Thank you for your email
dated 27 June 2006, requesting information regarding how many help
and support groups Norwich City Council funds directly or indirectly
for (1.i) male and (1.ii) female victims of domestic violence and
their children and (2) how much each one receives p.a. Please find
this information below:
1) How many help and support
groups are funded directly or indirectly for:
i. Male victims of domestic
violence and their children:
Mpower
Norwich Rape Crisis
EASE (Domestic Violence Survivors Support Group)
Victim Support
ii. Female victims of domestic
violence and their children:
Leeway Womens Aid
Norwich Rape Crisis
EASE (Domestic Violence Survivors Support Group)
Victim Support
2) How much each one receives
per annum:
Mpower received £448
in November 2004 (a one off community grant upto a max of £500
in an 18 month period); Norwich Rape Crisis received £1,000
in 2005-06, and £2,000 in 2006-07 (this is a core grant awarded
each year); EASE (Domestic Violence Survivors Support Group) received
£5,000 in February 2005 (a community grant - not able to apply
from this fund within an 18 month period); Victim Support received
£10,000 in 2004 (this was a one off core grant); and Leeway
Womens Aid will receive £25,000 from Norwich City Council's
Housing Department in 2006-07 (£12,500 from DCLG homelessness
grant and £12,500 from HRA).
