Subject: Freedom of Information request.
Dear Mr Mortimer,
Freedom of Information
Act – Information Request
Thank you for
your request for information, this has now been processed and the
information that we hold is enclosed.
This is the information
which I have received from our Homelessness Team:
“In terms
of funding we currently provide various grants that could provide
support at some stage for victims of domestic violence eg CAB or Shelter,
however more specifically direct(ish) support could be provided as
follows (2006/7 levels):
-Stevenage and
North Herts Women's resource centre £1666
-Area rape crisis
line £688
-Victim support
£568
-Samaritans £1022
I know that these
are general services, however this is the closest we come to serving
this particular client group. We also finance a team of officers who
provide direct support and assistance to victims and families suffering
from domestic violence as part of our housing service.”
Further information
explaining the Council's process for responding to information requests
is available in our reception or on our website. If you have any queries
regarding the process or your request please do not hesitate to contact
me. It is important that you include the above FOI reference number
on all correspondence related to this request.
Thank you for
your request.
Yours Sincerely
Garry Melding
