Following investigation with Social Services and our Community Safety Services we have been unable to trace any funding of groups within the Monmouthshire area associated with male victims of domestic violence.

Monmouthshire County Council is one of many organisations who fund Women's Aid in Monmouthshire. The service offers five beds to those fleeing domestic violence. Monmouthshire contributes £145,000 in block funding per annum with additional funding coming from housing benefit depending on assessment of individual cases. This was in the region of £45,000 in the last financial year.

Monmouthshire also operates a floating housing support service for vulnerable people of either sex who are suffering or fleeing from domestic abuse. This is a generic service with a 56 bed capacity. People can self refer via the council's one -stop-shops.

Yours sincerely,

Bruce Caswell
