Mr Mortimer
This is in reply
to your request for Information on funding for help and support groups
(our reference FOI-00218). I am now able to provide you with the information
that I believe we hold in relation to your request.
Through our 'Single
Pot' grant programmes for the not-for-profit sector, we do not fund
any organisations, whose main aims and objectives are to work with
victims of domestic abuse, male/female or children.
However, we do
fund a number of agencies that would work indirectly with victims
of domestic violence, although I would suspect that this may not be
the 'presenting problem' in the majority of cases (i.e. a client will
contact an agency for housing advice in the first instance and it
may be that, on further investigation, the real cause for contact
is domestic abuse).
So far in 2006/07
we have supported the following agencies that are equipped to deal
indirectly (i.e. by referral to specialist agency) with domestic violence
issues:
CHAT (Churches
Housing Action Team) £ 5,000 (Male/female/children)
Crediton Neighbourhood Family Centre £ 500 (Female/children)
Home-Start Mid Devon £ 4,500 (Male/female/children)
Mid Devon Citizens Advice Bureau £ 42,060 (Male/female/children)
Mid Devon Youth Drop In £ 5,000 (Male/female young adults/children)
Relate £ 1,500 (Male/female/children)
Unite - Carers in Mid Devon £ 1,200 (Male/female/children).
This totals £
59,760 and represents 42.92% of the grants allocated to date this
year.
yours sincerely
