Dear Michael,
I would advise you that
Magherafelt District Council does not hold any information in relation
to the number of domestic violence perpetrator programs there are
in this Council area and it does not provide funding to any such program.
It appears to me that this
enquiry may be based on the incorrect assumption that Local Authorities
in Northern Ireland have the same range of statutory functions as
Local Authorities in Great Britain. Local Authorities in NI do not
have any responsibility for the delivery of health or social services
programs.
Regards,
JJ Tohill
Director of Finance and
Administration

Dear Mr Mortimer,
Please be advised that
the Council does not automatically fund help and support groups/services
for male or female victims of domestic abuse. Our records indicate
that no such funding was provided directly in the last full financial
year.
Yours sincerely,
JJ Tohill
