Mr Wiffen

Macclesfield District council do not run or fund any domestic violence perpetrator programmes.

Hope this helps

Hi Dave,

I am replying on behalf of the Partnership for a Safe Borough, the Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership (CDRP) in Macclesfield. Our Partnership provides an annual grant (£22,000 this years) towards the running of a Family Support Unit covering the Eastern Division of Cheshire Constabulary. This covers two other CDRP areas as well as our own. The unit consists of a DV Co-ordinator, 2 DV Support Workers, an Independent DV Advocate and a part-time specialist male worker. It is not possible to break down spending by male and female victims of DV, but the vast majority will be on female victims.

As for Macclesfield Borough Council, I am not aware that it provides any funding for DV, but it does provide, free of charge, one of its buildings to Macclesfield Women's Aid, which uses the building as a Women's Refuge. Clearly, this is for women (and their children) only.

Hope that helps,
Alan Lawson
