Hi Michael
Luton council does not
run any Perpetrators programmes. Perpetrators programmes are run by
the Probation Service. Luton only fund Domestic Violence Victims via
Luton Women's Aid and do NOT fund perpetrators. Luton currently do
not fund any domestic violence perpetrator programmes.

We receive £40,000 per annum, which covers the salary of the
co-ordinator, on cots and the small balance for purchasing resources,
leaflets etc.

I received this answer
from our representative on the Safer Luton Partnership.
Please let me know if you require more detail

FoI Co-ordinator
The Luton Domestic Violence
Co-ordinator is funded by the Borough Council. She is placed within
The Safer Luton Partnership as all members of the Domestic Violence
Forum did not want the post based within a statutory service. Sue
Baker the co-ordinator ensures that all work in the town related to
Domestic Violence is co-ordinate as best as she can. There are still
people who do their own thing and she finds out about it later. We
have a multi agency joint working protocol which lays out what we
will do and how we will do it. Luton has a Domestic Violence Strategy
and within this is the monitoring of the BV's which you are aware
of. So basically in terms of the question The Safer Luton Partnership
is either directly or indirectly involved in all of the work that
is being delivered around Domestic Violence.
We however do not have
actual funds that we can disseminate. If the Management group identifies
a particular area that they want to do work in, Sue will work with
myself to identify a source of funding and make an application. In
terms of work with children Jenny Coles would be a good contact.
I believe that there is
very little work with men. The majority of work with women is through
the refuge and Jenny Moody could help you with some figures.
SLP tends to deliver a
range of training to professionals and those working with the clients,
promoting the work through awareness and campaigns and monitoring
the strategy and BV's
