Mr Wiffen

In response to your request below, we are working at a County level to provide a Perpetrator Programme in Staffordshire, for male perpetrators of domestic violence.

It is hoped that this will start around March 2007 and is being ‘bought in’ by SAFE which is a programme currently being run in Walsall. The funding for this has been as a result of funding applied for by each of the DV Co-ordinators across Staffordshire to GOWM. No funding has been received from Lichfield District Council as a contribution to this.

It is planned that the programme will run as a 32 week pilot, to be evaluated and further funding then applied for.

I hope this answers your query but if you wish to discuss the matter further please contact me via the details below.

Dear Mr Mortimer

Following your request of 12th November regarding funding for organisations and services for victims of both male and female domestic violence, please find below my response.

Within Staffordshire, each district has its own Domestic Violence Coordinator. The Lichfield postholder works closely with the Lichfield District DV Forum, which raises awareness of DV issues and coordinates services within the district.

The post is partially funded by the Lichfield District Community Safety Partnership (£5000 per annum), although this is not Council money per se but central Government funding.

We have given £1000 in 2006-7 to Victim Support South Staffordshire.

The Pathway Project, a charity providing refuge accommodation to women victims of domestic violence and outreach support and advice to all vicitms of domestic violence,

received £2500 in 2005-6 and has been allocated £750 for 2006-7.

I trust this answers your query.
