Dear David,
Thank you for
your request for information.
Ipswich Borough
Council gives grant aid to Ipswich Women's Aid. The amount of this
grant aid for 2006/07 is £15,840.
In addition to
this amount, the Council also gives grant aid to the Citizens Advice
Bureau (CAB), which would give advice to both male and female victims
of abuse within their overall advice services. The total grant to
the CAB is £92,030 for 2006/07, however we are not able to break
down this figure to show how the grant is spent by the CAB. Ipswich
Borough Council's housing advisory services team also gives advice
and assistance to both male and female victims of abuse although it
is again difficult to quantify what percentage or cost of service
is attributed to this particular client group.
If you are unhappy
with this response to this request and wish to make a complaint, you
should initially follow the Council's complaints procedure and write
to Mr Paul Turner, Corporate Legal Adviser, who will arrange for an
internal review of your case.
If you have any
queries please contact me.
