How many help
and support groups you fund directly or indirectly for (A) male and
(B) female victims of domestic violence and their children and (C)
how much each one receives pa.
Your request for
information has been considered under the Freedom of Information Act
2000. I can confirm that Hertfordshire County Council (HCC) holds
the information you have requested which is as follows:
Presently, HCC
supports the victims of domestic violence within the County in the
following ways:
There are seven
refuges and 3 floating support schemes, which are exclusively available
for women and the children of domestic violence victims.
HCC financial
support is as follows:
Adult Care Services
- Supporting People provided £765,031, in 06/07 to these refuges
and floating support schemes.
Adult Care Services provided £3000, in 06/07, for the Refuge
in North Herts.
Children’s Schools & Families provided £68,384, in
06/07, to support the children of domestic violence.
There is no service
exclusively for men, which is supported by HCC.
Finally, a member
of HCC staff, chair’s the County Domestic Violence Forum and
line manages the Domestic Violence Helpline Co-ordinator.
