Subject: FOI request

Your request has been passed to me for attention -

Through the EFDC Grant Aid we have a 'long-term' 3 year agreement with Victim Support - West essex Division and this May they received £3,690 (initial amount of £3,500 plus inflation). The current agreement is to be reviewed during this financial year to recommence during the next financial year.

I am informed that through EFDC Crime Reduction Section we also provide funding. Unfortunately the Officer in charge of that section has recently left the employ of EFDC and despite looking through the accounts that are accessible I can find no direct payment to Victim Support - it may be given to another body who then directs payment. I will try and find out more.

As an aside Women's Aid are supported in terms of rape alarms, booklets etc, which comes from the CR a/c's. WA have also submitted a request for Grant Aid funding but after a period of time have not submitted a completed application form. They have to show, on the form, direct support to EFDC residents and maybe they cannot meet this criteria.

Hope this helps.
