Subject: Freedom of Information Request
Dear Mr Wiffen,
Thank you for your request
regarding information about programmes for perpetrators of domestic
violence. In response to this, no perpetrator programmes are run or
funded by Enfield Council. The only perpetrator programme which those
in Enfield can access is run through the Probation Service (Integrated
Domestic Abuse Programme). Perpetrators are referred to this programme
normally as part of a community rehabilitation order prescribed by
the courts. As such, I would suggest you contact IDAP or the London
Probation service directly.

Subject: Official request for information
Dear Mr Mortimer,
Thank you for your request regarding victims of domestic abuse. In
response to your question, Enfield Council provides funding to two
groups who specifically deal with female victims of domestic violence
(Enfield Women's Aid and Enfield Muslim Women's Aid). Due to commercial
interests (which is an exemption under the Freedom of information
Act), I cannot expand on how much funding each group received individually.
However, between them they were funded for £357,017.10 and provide
28 placements.
Enfield Council
also funds a non gender specific service in the form of Christian
Action Housing - Elevate which receives £40,000 and has 10 placements
available. Through the local Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership
funding from the Home Office (for which the council is the responsible
authority), we also funded a domestic violence (DV) Advocate worker
for £22,562.00 and a DV Co-ordinator (with support to the DV
forum) for £36.266.13. These roles (and that of the DV forum)
are also non-gender specific.
On top of this we also
have a new Community Housing Group Generic Service that offers support
to vulnerable people with low-level needs, so this would accept males
/ females experiencing domestic violence to some extent. We cannot
provide a cost for this in relation to domestic violence as it is
not a DV specific service.
There are also several
groups that receive funding from Sustainable Communities, although
this does not make up their entire budget. These organisations provide
information and advice to victims of domestic abuse although you will
have to contact these individually if you wish to know how much they
spend on services to victims of domestic abuse (and how much of this
is based on funding provided by the Council). These services are the
Citizens Advice Bureau, Community Aid, Enfield Saheli, Enfield Women's
Centre and Victim Support.
I hope this answers your
questions, but please feel free to contact me if I can be of further
assistance. My contact details are below
