Dear Mr Wiffen,

Elmbridge Borough Council does not directly run any domestic violence perpetrator programmes.

Elmbridge Borough Council contributes £20k to the Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership (CDRP), who in turn give some funding to the North Surrey Domestic Abuse Outreach programme, who work with the Walton, Weybridge and Hersham CAB and North East Surrey Assessment Team on the North Surrey Intervention Programme for Perpetrators. This programme is for Male Perpetrators and their partners and children who are not engaged in the criminal justice system (the terms of this programme are, however, currently being relaxed due to difficulties in finding perpetrators willing to join). It should be noted that while the Council contributes £20k to the CDRP, it is the CDRP that determines annually where funding should be best focussed, with many other groups than just the North Surrey Domestic Abuse Outreach programme receiving a subsequent undetermined slice from our contribution.

Surrey Probation Service also run an Intervention Programme for Perpetrators as part of their sentences, and this is Surrey based and would include Elmbridge residents if appropriate.

There is also a new Sanctuary Scheme which is looking to be launched and the CDRP are looking to contribute to this along with a potential contribution from Elmbridge Borough Council Housing Services totalling £10k.

So, to clarify the Council does not directly fund either male or female perpetrator schemes.

Yours sincerely,
Simon Kiely
