Dear Mr Mortimer,

The County Council provides specific funding and also works in partnership with each of the Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnerships (CDRPs) at district and borough level and is now the overall accountable body for their funding although decisions on their spend is taken locally.

In addition the County Council provides overall co-ordination and strategy development of Domestic Violence through the provision of one co-ordinator.

A. There are no support groups specifically for male victims.

B. There are two groups specifically for female victims.

The other groups offer support to both genders.

C. How much funding:

Crime Reduction Initiative (CRI) Domestic Abuse Service Provide generic services to men and women across East Sussex.

Funding for 2005/06

Hastings CDRP 37.5K (CRI)

Eastbourne CDRP 30K (23.5K to A Step Forward, 7.5K to CRI)

Lewes CDRP 4.5K (to A Step Forward)

Rother CDRP 19K (CRI)

Rother Surestart 5K (CRI)

Wealden CDRP 30K (to A Step Forward)

Hospital Projects

Aimed at supporting both men and women who present at A & E with injuries that could be related to domestic violence.

A&E Project Conquest Hospital, Hastings (Managed by CRI and Action for Change)
Funded by Public Service Agreement (Government funding via ESCC) 2005/06 40K; East Sussex County Council 2006/07 £40,000

Contracted to CRI (20K) and Action for Change (20K)

A&E Service, Eastbourne District General Hospital (Managed by CRI)
Service commenced 2006
Funded by :ESCC Community Fund for 3 years to 2009 (30K per annum)
(Government Funding via ESCC) LAA Pump Priming for 3 years @ 7K per annum
Contracted to CRI.

Refuge East Sussex Outreach Service
Women only service
Funded by: Supporting People £90,679 (tbc by Supporting People)
Contracted to Refuge Outreach.

Domestic Abuse Worker
Women only service (Hailsham East)
Funded by: Sure Start (Government Funding via ESCC Children’s Services) 26K
