Mr. Mortimer
Thank you for your email
regarding the services we fund in relation to domestic violence support
groups for men and women in East Staffs. The East Staffs Community
safety Partnership employ a full-time domestic violence co-ordinator
who works closely with our voluntary and community service providers
to ensure effective partnership working across the various agencies.
The CSP don't directly
fund any support or help groups for either men or women, however part
of the DV co-ordinator's role is to help facilitate this type of group
and provide advice/guidance in relation to opportunities for funding
or other resources. The Co-ordinator is directly invovled in the 'Superheroes'
group for female victims and their children and therefore the CSP
indirectly provides a resource to this group. The Co-ordinator also
works closely with service providers such as SARAC (Sexual Abuse and
Rape Advice Centre) who do provide a support service to both male
and female victims of sexual and domestic abuse, again this is not
through direct funds, but instead through support and facilitiation
in relation to accessing other funding sources.
I hope this provides a
satisfactory response to your queries. If you need further information
please contact me via this email address or on 01283 508626. I should
point out that I will be on maternity leave from 30th June 2006, and
Chris Ebberley wil be taking on most aspects of my role from this
point. he can be contacted on 01283 508772.
