Dear Mr Wiffen,

Carrick DC do not directly fund any perpetrator programmes.

The Community Safety Service at the Council have a training budget of approximately £5,000 set aside which it is intended to use to train relevant staff to provide support and information regarding Domestic Violence.

Whilst there is no specific Policy in place yet the Council, as an employer, are aiming to recommend the policy which will allow this training to take place to the Personnel Committee which is due to meet in March 2007.

It is proposed that the Council will have just one policy for both male and female perpetrators of domestic violence. It is intended to expand this to include anger management generally (for both sexes).

Yours Sincerely,

Mark Andrews
