Dear Mr Mortimer,

Thank you for your email below.

For 2005-6 under the SSCF (Safer and Stronger Communities fund) – Home Office funding:

£5000 was provided for domestic violence data monitoring project to a womens aid organisation.

£4300 was provided for domestic violence multi-agency training to a womens aid organisation.

£15000 was provided for a domestic violence advocacy worker to a womens aid organisation.

£500 was provided for a countywide publicity campaign for a domestic violence ‘Sanctuary Scheme’ (target hardening measures) – for vulnerable male and female victims.

For 2006-7 the SSCF will be providing:

£15000 for a domestic violence advocacy worker to a womens aid organisation.

For 2006 the Sanctuary scheme comprising of 7 local housing authorities, the police and specialist support agencies will be launching a project to install target hardening measures for vulnerable male and female victims of domestic violence. Currently there is no budget set and no monies have been spent. Finances will be spent on vulnerable male/female individuals, identified and assessed for the appropriate measures (this is not an SSCF project).

Yours faithfully,

Grahame Green
