Dear Mr Mortimer
Further to your
request for information I enclose the following response.
Blaby District
Council does not in its own right fund any services for victims of
Domestic Violence whether male or female.
However the Blaby
District Community Safety Partnership has put some funding towards
an outreach worker specifically for Blaby District. This post is for
31 hours a week, with 14 hours of this paid for out of Partnership
money at a cost of £10,000. The remaining 17 hours are paid
by Leicestershire County Council, who can be contacted on 0116 2323232
should you require any further details. The outreach worker is supplied
by Woman’s Aid Leicestershire Ltd and they work with female
victims of domestic violence only. The Council has a Domestic Violence
Coordinator/Community Safety Officer, this post is also funded by
the Partnership. This role however does not work directly with victims
of Domestic Violence, they are involved in working with partners on
initiatives and projects and liaising with the outreach worker.
Should you require
any further details about this role please contact Teresa Neal on
0116 272 7785 or email community.development@blaby.gov.uk
Yours Sincerely
Mrs Sara-Jane Newbon
