David
Further to my earlier email
I have received the following information our Community Safety Section.
Please be aware that Bexley Community Safety Partnership, BCSP, receives
money from a number of different sources of which Bexley Council is
only one of the funders and therefore the figures quoted below (2005/06)
are not directly attributable Bexley Council funding but are met from
pooled funding.
BCSP funds a Crisis Intervention
Team to the tune of £70,000 to which all victims of domestic
violence will be referred. A vulnerable victims co-ordinator £37,000
is also funded which brings greater co-ordination to the work and
partnership response to domestic violence.
Funding £33,000 is
also provided for the Bobby Van (home security service), as well dealing
with victims of domestic violence it also deals with victims of crime
and burglary.
Although not directly dealing
with victims of domestic abuse funding of £7,500 is also provided
for the co-ordination and chairing of the Borough's Domestic Violence
Forum. This group exists to co-ordinate the borough's response to
domestic violence issues and bring closer partnership working to domestic
violence.
Please note BCSP priorities
and funding can vary from year to year and the figures quoted may
not necessarily remain at this level for future years.
If I can be of any further
assistance please do not hesitate to contact me.

Subject: FOI request - Victims of domestic violence
Dear David
Further to your
recent request I can provide you with the following information. For
the 2005/06 financial year Bexley Council provided funding of £264,178.84
directly to Bexley Women's Aid. Funding of £75,325.00 was also
provided to Bexley Women's Aid in respect of support for children
affected by domestic violence within their families. I am awaiting
confirmation of funding to support groups (which may include domestic
violence) from within our Community Safety Programme, unfortunately
the officer who was providing this information is off sick. I will
let you know of any funding from this programme shortly.
