Dear Mr Wiffen

I am not aware of any domestic violence perpetrator programmes in which Alnwick District Council has any involvement or of any in the Alnwick District Council area.

Dear Mr Wiffen

We have now had the opportunity to fully consider your request and I am pleased to provide a response for your attention.

You asked: How many male and female victims of domestic violence were recorded by each of the police districts (Inside Northumbria police force area) in each of the last 3 financial years, and specifically for the Alnwick sector.

In response: I can confirm the following data in relation to domestic violence broken down into financial years. Unfortunately we are unable to provide gender specifics prior to the 2004-2005 financial period.

The figures for the Alnwick sector of Northumbria Police are as follows:

2004-2005 Male victims Female victims
  36 80

2005-2006 Male victims Female victims
  25 102

The figures for the Area Commands of Northumbria police are broken down as follows:

2004-2005 Male victims Female victims
Sunderland 652 2507
South Tyneside 284 1391
Gateshead 410 1727
North Tyneside 421 1661
Newcastle 501 2360
Northumberland 457 1784

2005-2006 Male victims Female victims

Dear Mr Mortimer

None of the groups which we currently support specifically support victims of domestic violence although we currently support North Northumberland Victim Support which I believe is not gender specific and who's brief is wider than victims of domestic violence. This group receives £600 from the council for the 2006/07 financial year.
